Who won flip cup on Monday? posted by crabasa on September 27th

Do you know who won flip cup on Monday (Rain Out Day)?

Do you know who had a 16 game flip cup winning streak?

Do you know who had 8 straight match wins?

So with all of that
Do you know who had the flip cup table ALL NIGHT?

The Potomac Pirates!

The PP, which had the late game, still showed up in high numbers last night. Even with the rain out of kickball, the important part of why we joined was still to be had. And every Pirate knew it. Some almost decided not to come, but when they heard about the $250 tab.they came a running!

I beleive the quote of the night, at least for me, was from a member of the Orange Shirt Team.

You guys are alcoholics!

HELLLOOO!!! It took you 5 weeks to determine that! HAHA!

Thanks for ALL that showed up. Not just the Pirates, but all who came out to enjoy DCKs hospitality. Thanks, Matt and Carter!

Rain Out :( posted by crabasa on September 27th

DCKickballs charmed life regarding bad weather came to a screeching halt last night when the rain that had been threatening to fall ended up obliging. Boo.

Anyway, thanks for everyone who made it to the fields to hear about the rain-out in person, and especially to everyone who came down to the bar to drown their sorrows in Bud Light, rum&coke (Damian), and wine (Liz). DCKickball was happy to pick-up the first $250 of last nights drinking, and well be doing the same thing (rain or shine) on Wednesday, so dont miss out!

Screening in October posted by crabasa on September 8th

A local director (Richard Chu) is conducting a film screening at the Avalon Theatre in October. You can see more information about this screening here. DCKickballers are being offered discounted tickets ($1 off the $7 regular price). In addition, 25% of the net proceeds are going to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

Anyway, I know its not flip cup or beer pong, but it sounded like a neat thing for those who might be inclined to support a local filmmaker and see something outside the mainstream.

Pizza Sighting posted by crabasa on September 8th

Cathy Setzer, summer DCKickballer, was recently featured in the DCist. Apparently Cornel West is a hard guy to track down. Kudos!
