Registration Closes 5pm on Friday, 3/28

What is truly America’s favorite past time? Baseball? Not anymore. Softball? Not quite. Kickball? ABSOLUTELY.

As a result of overwhelming interest for kickball games on Sunday afternoons, the Constitution Division now closes group registration in advance of its original April 4 deadline. Although official teams will no longer be accepted, individuals are still encouraged to register as independent players. Independent players will be recruited by teams during the Pre-season Draft party on April 4 at Nolan’s as well as during scrimmage games on April 6. Inquiries may be submitted to division president, Jack Fan, at whyjackfan at gmail . com.

All unpaid players will be removed from any existing team rooster as of 5pm (“COB”) Friday, 3/28. It’s extremely critical for adminstrative purposes to know whether our division has 500 people or 400 people.

Unpaid players associated with teams will be reassigned as independent players (“Free Agents”) as of this 3/28 deadline. Free Agents may still participate in your respective DCK team but you must re-sign with your team. Furthermore, any unpaid independent player as of the pre-season party must pay the full $20 cover.

Any unpaid player as of this 3/28 deadline will not be guaranteed a team assignment for the 2008 Summer Season. At the COB this Friday, we will finalize the team structure of the Constitution Division. Afterwards, team assignments (if any) will be available on first-to-pay basis.

All regular season games are either @ 6:30 or 7:15, on the Fields of Glory on the Washington Monument grounds. (NW corner, near intersection of 17th & Constitution NW) Matchups for regular season games as well as info for parties will be forthcoming.

The Capital Conference Summer 2008 Pre-Season Captains Meeting will be held on April 5th @ 7 pm at our sponsor bar, Penn Quarter Sports Tavern. We ask that all team captains attend, as our illustrious president as well as the rest of the board will be going over rules, regulations, plans, etc.

Afterwards, the Summer 2008 Pre-Season Party will happen @ 8 pm there at Penn Quarter Sports Tavern! All Capital DCKickball are welcome to attend. More details will follow about this always fun event.

Dear Constitution Division Kickers,

We encourage you to join your fellow teammates and potential arch-rivals at Nolan’s (2323 18th St., NW – Adams Morgan Area) on Friday, April 4 starting at 9:00 PM. Open bar (beer & rail drinks) will be available from 9:00 PM to Mid-night. This will be an opportunity for you to meet long lost teammates or recruit budding All-Stars. Captains will be drafting independent players and smaller groups throughout the weekend. The cost will be $5 per DCK player and $20 for non-members. Remember, The earlier you come the cheaper your drinks will be on a per-unit basis.

Welcome to the second summer season of the Constitution Division with DC Kickball. This will be the first of numerous e-mails from your division board. Be prepared for a few rule changes, a lot of kicking, and a whole lot of flipping. We will kick off the season April 4 with the Draft Party. Teams will have an opportunity to recruit and draft independent players. There will be mergers. There will be trades. And there will be drinking (and free draft beer).
